Whitchurch - An epitaph to an ending

Colour Supplies (previouly House Makers) closed its doors for the last time on Friday evening 27th February 2026. Fifty five years as a family run business since its beginnings in supplying homes and businesses in the greater Whitchurch area of Shropshire. A very sad loss to this declining town and to the population it has served so well.
But the battle against moribund commercial politics and planning, incoming national retailers and multiples is not lost. Despite the Country's ceaseless economic decline, Colour Supplies remains cautiously yet confidently buoyant and continues trading with both its Oswestry and Wrexham stores.
The future of the premises and the possibility of any new business occupying them is unknown at present. Let us hope its not going to be yet another coffee shop, hairdressers, vape shop and the like.
