Whitty Wanderers Christmas Lunch 18 Dec 2025
Yo Ho Ho! Rudolph's retired for this year.

Once again we held our Christmas lunch at the very traditional country gastro-pub - The Dickin Arms in Loppington, near to Wem, Shropshire. They serve excellent fayre and everyone enjoyed good company, tasty Christmas food with excellent ales and wines, complimented with an efficient and smiling table service. Unfortunately, one of our team Geoff was indisposed, having contracted the fluey bug doing its rounds and so we all toasted his good health and wished him a speedy recovery. Everyone brought along a 'silly' hat (appropriate or otherwise) and at the end of the meal a secret prize was awarded for the best effort. All had a go but a unanimous opinion of the judges (a couple of the staff) was that of Malcolm's being the most fun, original and design-worthy. Although Paul's came to be a close second, due to design flair and inginuity. And so Malcolm was awarded the golden globes prize (not to be opened until Christmas Day) following which I'm sure he'll provide photos for addition to this literary masterpiece - being the Whitty Wanderers' blog. So it just remains to wish all our team and those who follow our escapades, a very merry Christmas and good tidings for 2026.

And the winner is - Malcolm, with his Festive balls!
